Slack: Where real-time communications happen!
Slack is our real-time communication system. We use this for a variety of reasons:
Announcements to the students, parents, board members, and mentors
Team and sub-team communication
Intra-team collaboration
Communications during competitive events
Task lists and project planning
Because Slack is a central piece of how we work together as a team, all students are required to log in and use Slack. Parents and guardians are more than welcome to join our Slack to receive up-to-the-minute updates on the happenings within Harrison Boiler Robotics.

Students will automatically be invited to Slack upon completion of the Team registration form.
Parents can ask to be added to Slack by indicating YES on their student's enrollment form
If you need any assistance setting up or using Slack, please see a student team lead, mentor, or anyone from the parent board. We are more than happy to get you connected!

Slack can be accessed in numerous ways:
Via mobile app (preferred):
Desktop
Via a web browser
NOTE: Due to policies set by the Tippecanoe School Corporation, Slack is not an approved app on your student's Chromebook. It is also not accessible via the normal TSC-Wifi network provided by the school system. During Robotics, we use Tipmont's free wifi service and assume everyone has a device capable of connecting to Slack.

#announcements - Official team announcements from Team Leads and Mentors come from this channel.
#general - Team-related, on-topic chatter that is open to all members. Weekly calendar pushes from Google Calendar are published on Sundays at 7 pm to this channel.
#leadership-notes - Every time the Student Leads have a meeting, a full report appears in this channel. This is good information for understanding where the team is heading.
#1747-documents - A channel where important team documents are shared (handbooks, rules, etc.)
#purdue-concessions-updates - Up-to-the-minute information regarding our concessions commitments with Levy.
#parents - A channel dedicated to parents and guardians of 1747 team members
#please-open-the-door - Stuck outside because the door is locked? Ping in this channel, and someone will come let you in!

Generally, we prefer to keep chit-chat to a bare minimum, keeping the channel open for essential communications only.
