Competition Season

Harrison Boiler Robotics participates in the district model through FIRST Indiana Robotics (FIN) for FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). During the official competition season, we participate in two district qualifiers, with the intent of making it to the State Championship. Depending on our overall performance in the season or if we win the State Championship outright, we may also qualify for the FIRST Championship in Houston, TX!

In the Indiana district, there are more than 70 teams that compete across the state during these events. You will see upwards of 40 teams at these events, where we compete with and against each other as alliances to earn district points to determine our fate for the season. 

These are highly energetic events with a lot happening; it is sometimes difficult to keep up with it all! As a supporter of 1747, expect to have a fantastic time, and be ready to dance and cheer until you are hoarse!

Here are several apps and sites we use to track our progress during an event.

  This is the source data for FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). All authoritative and final data regarding teams, events, and matches are stored here.

• The Blue Alliance - https://www.thebluealliance.com/  (Be sure to install the app!)
  Using FRC Events as its source, The Blue Alliance is the de facto standard for digging into real-time analysis of events, standings, and scouting other robotics teams. Beyond the metrics for every match, you will find YouTube links to (most) every match played by our team.

• Nexus for FRC - https://frc.nexus/en/
  Most FIRST Indiana events use Nexus for real-time queuing alerts, letting the Drive Team know it's time to queue for the next match. You can use this site to get be alerted when we're queuing so that you can head back to the stands to cheer us on! We also publish a channel on Slack called #nexus-match-notifications that also receives these notices. 

• Statbotics -  https://www.statbotics.io/team/1747
  Want to know the odds of us winning the next match? Statbotics provides data-driven best guesses on who will win matches based on the historical performance of the team, our alliance mates, and the opposing alliance. If you're into the geeky statistics, this site is for you!

• FRC Locks - https://www.frclocks.com/districts/fin.html
  Want to know if 1747 is a mathematical "lock" for the State or FIRST Championship? FRC Locks is the site that will tell you this information. Based on computations of the available "district points," FRC Locks can tell us if we have officially locked in our position for a championship event, or what we would need points-wise to make it to the next level!

• FRC Scores - https://scores.frc.sh/
  A website that tracks current and historical high scores for the season's FRC game.

FIRST events are open to the public, and the more people we have, the louder and more team spirit we have. If you have friends and relatives who would like to see Team 1747 in action, these links can be used to watch our events.

  Many of the FIRST Indiana events are live-streamed on Twitch TV. 

• The Blue Alliance - https://www.thebluealliance.com/events
  The Blue Alliance is a partner site with a trove of great real-time information about the team, including links to live events (in case an event isn't on Twitch)

• YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/indianarobotics
  YouTube tends to have highlights from events and specific match videos. (However, if you are looking for a particular match, The Blue Alliance has the authoritative catalog of all match videos!)
